This summer is the culmination of 2 years of advanced visual studies resulting in a gallery show in August. I am documenting my processes, thoughts and compositions, as a way to keep me focussed. My work emphasizes parts our bodies, physically and emotionally through line, color, and texture.

Journal entry dated October 19, 1999
The human heart is made up of muscular tissue, nerves, veins. It is an organ that keeps our bodies alive, as long as we keep it healthy. We keep our hearts healthy through exercise, and what we ingest. Yet, our hearts are fragile, regardless of how we protect it. We build these walls to keep out the bad and hope to hold in the good. Emotionally speaking, our hearts can break easily. Our human hearts, the organ, rests on a body, responds to our physical environment. Our emotional hearts break with each act of carelessness.
